Meet Scott A. Funke, DDS, FAGD
Dr. Funke is proud to be a part of the Med City Dental Team. He completed his undergraduate work at Iowa State University and graduated summa cum laude and in the honors program. He completed his dental studies at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry to earn his degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). He is among a small group of general dentists that has earned the distinction of Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD).
Dr. Funke is passionate and dedicated to providing the best possible care to his patients. He believes that his patients have the right to know the condition of their mouths, possible treatment options, and patient autonomy to choose what is best for them. He participates in study clubs, lectures, and completes an average of 100+ hours of continuing education per year and has completed more than 800 hours of post doctoral continuing education to date. Dr. Funke believes in giving back to the community and regularly volunteers at the Good Samaritan Dental Clinic.
Dr. Funke is working to earn his Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry that requires 1,100 hours of continuing education and hands on training in all aspects of general dentistry. He has completed studies of the four essentials courses at the prestigious Pankey Institute. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, Spear Study club, Growth and Development Study Club, and a board member of the Zumbro Valley Dental Society.
Dr. Funke and his wife, Amy, live in Rochester with their daughter, Emma. Dr. Funke enjoys boating on the Mississippi River, spending time in the outdoors, mountain biking, road biking, and fishing in his spare time. He also enjoys cooking, smoking meats, and experiencing new foods.
